Modern highway design demands an integrated approach to passive safety and active delineation. As China’s largest manufacturer of road marking machines and safety boundary marking solutions, Heavsty is pioneering structural developments in the road safety domain. With a dedicated R&D team consisting of 40 specialized engineering professionals, a modern manufacturing plant exceeding 20,000 square meters, and a total workforce of over 200 dedicated employees, we deliver advanced, reliable, and MASH/EN 1317 aligned lane boundary application equipment globally.
"Integrating physical traffic safety barriers with micro-textured retroreflective markings forms the basis of next-generation corridor hazard management. Ensuring those systems are placed with millimeter precision is where Heavsty’s engineering excels."
Under the global Vision Zero framework, highway engineers view barriers and marking lines not as isolated components, but as a dynamic safety system. While physical traffic barriers (steel W-beams, concrete blocks, wire ropes) absorb mechanical impact during run-off-road (ROR) crashes, visual and retroreflective boundaries act as the first line of prevention. High-build thermoplastic lines, structural audible profiles, and water-based vertical reflective coatings prevent lane departures before impact occurs. Providing optimal road surface condition assessments and reliable marking machinery is thus a core pillar of highway project risk mitigation.
Our commitment to rigorous testing, international certifications, and large-scale manufacturing ensures safety compliance on every continent.

The transportation sector is undergoing a massive transformation with the expansion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles. The physical road infrastructure must adapt. Delineation markings require higher retroreflectivity, structural resilience, and distinct contrast to be readable by machine vision cameras (using LiDAR and optical sensors) in adverse weather conditions.
Continuous thermal scanning guarantees hot-melt materials reach optimal crystallization points for structural integrity.
Eliminates paint overspray while delivering consistent dry film thickness (DFT) even at high cruising speeds.
Integration of recovery devices reduces PM2.5 generation during line blasting and thermoplastic preheating operations.
Global purchasing departments representing civil engineering EPC contractors, municipal development authorities, and highway concessionaires encounter structural supply chain bottlenecks when sourcing traffic safety barriers and lining equipment. Standardized compliance is a frequent obstacle. Our products are fully optimized to work alongside safety barriers that meet local specifications, whether it's complying with standard MASH TL-3/TL-4 requirements in the Americas, or maintaining EN 1317 containment class N2/H2 guidelines in European markets.
Furthermore, project managers face tight construction schedules. Idle equipment translates directly to financial penalties. Heavsty minimizes downtime by utilizing modular engine configurations, off-the-shelf hydraulic components, and highly intuitive controls that reduce operator training periods from weeks to a few hours.

Industrial road construction equipment is subjected to challenging field conditions, varying asphalt specifications, and highly diverse international safety regulations. Heavsty provides end-to-end localization support to ensure that municipal and state-level safety criteria are met. We collaborate with national testing laboratories to certify that reflective pavement markers and applied coatings exhibit standard durability under different freeze-thaw cycles and high UV exposure.
Additionally, Heavsty maintains a global network of field service engineers. Our technicians provide on-site commissioning, operator training, and calibration services for high-speed spray trucks, hot-melt kettles, and automated rubber removal units. This comprehensive technical service guarantees that all systems maintain optimal calibration, ensuring structural road marking integrity and maximum traffic flow during safety installations.
Modern highway design relies on passive safety systems. Barriers (such as concrete step profiles and guardrails) work together with micro-textured markings. While physical traffic barriers absorb the kinetic energy of a crashing vehicle, high-contrast, reflective lane delineations and raised markers act as crucial visual guides to keep drivers in their lanes. High-durability markings applied with Heavsty machinery are engineered to provide maximum visibility, serving as highly effective psychological and visual barriers that reduce crash rates.

Visual lane markings are preventative, active safety systems that keep vehicles in their lane. By contrast, physical traffic barriers function as passive safety systems, containing and redirecting out-of-control vehicles to prevent severe run-off-road (ROR) crashes. Together, high-visibility markings and physical crash barriers create a multi-layered highway safety zone.
Thermoplastic markings are applied hot (above 180°C) and cure via cooling, forming a thick, high-durability layer (typically 1.5–3.0 mm) with excellent retroreflectivity and lifespan. Cold-spray systems utilize solvent- or water-based paints that dry through evaporation. They are faster to apply and ideal for regular municipal maintenance, though they are thinner (under 0.8 mm) and need more frequent renewal.
Mechanical grinding can create micro-fractures in the asphalt or concrete substrate and generates dust. Water-jetting uses ultra-high-pressure water (up to 2,800 bar) to cleanly wash away coatings and rubber without damaging the pavement structure. It preserves the surface profile, prevents dust emissions, and allows immediate reapplying of markings.
Retroreflectivity is achieved by embedding glass beads into the binder material. Heavsty machines use automatic, speed-proportional glass bead dispensers to ensure uniform distribution and optimal embedment depth (typically 50-60% of the bead diameter). This ensures continuous retroreflectivity under headlight illumination.
Our manufacturing processes and products are certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. We also hold CE compliance marks for the European Union market, and our factory is verified by TÜV Rheinland and SGS to meet international manufacturing standards.
